This is the privacy policy for DesignTracker (“DesignTracker”, “we”, “us,” or “our”) and it explains how we (as data controller) gather and use information that we receive or collect (including personal data) through our website www.designtracker.ai and other digital platforms and marketing tools used by us. 

DesignTracker is part of Well Designed Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under the company number 13247492 and with a registered address at Studio 210, 134-146 Curtain Road, London, EC2A 3AR, United Kingdom. 

Any information used is done so in keeping with EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and any relevant national laws which implement GDPR and any legislation that fully or partially replaces it.

What Information We Collect And Why? 

First things first, we won’t collect data about you without asking you beforehand. Our newsletter asks you for your name and email address so that we can correspond with you. Our contact form asks you for your name, email address, job title and company. It is clearly laid out on our website. For our consultancy services, the information you give us may also include your phone number, address and financial information. 

Social Media And Other Third Parties 

We may also gather publicly available information about you from third parties such as LinkedIn and information submitted to us by you via direct message on our social media accounts. We use social media in accordance with each platforms’ terms of service and privacy policy. DesignTracker uses Instagram (which is owned by Facebook) and LinkedIn. We send out our newsletter using the email marketing tool Mailchimp and adhere to Mailchimp’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.  

Cookies

Cookies are small text files with little bits of data or information. Our website uses cookies to collect information such as your IP address, browser details, operating system and time zone. Other details that cookies can decipher include the date and time you visited the website, what content you’ve hovered over and spent time reading and items you may have clicked on or downloaded. Cookies help websites to remember useful information (like your browsing history or what you’re interested in) without directly identifying you. How Collected Data Is Used By Us

We request your name and email when you sign up to become a member of the DesignTracker community so that we can communicate with you by email and provide you with the information and services you have specifically indicated you would like to receive. Our newsletters contain solutions journalism and content produced by the DesignTracker team. We also use email to tell you about news and events happening in our community such as webinars and livestreams. Occasionally these emails may include display advertising and communication from brand partners. We will always give you the opportunity to provide feedback about our newsletter directly to us. Should any changes be made to our Privacy Policy we will contact you by email to let you know about it so that you can choose whether you’d like to continue to opt-in. 

In the contact form on our website we also ask for your job title and company. This is in order to grow our analytics so that we can build a picture of the community (sectors and industries) and be guided by what content is most relevant to them. We also want to improve the user experience on our website and serve our community in the best way possible and to keep it safe and secure. 

Sharing Information With Others 

There are some scenarios where we share your information with others. For example: 

  1. We may need to share your information with other organisations or suppliers that we have partnered with or contracted to carry out consultancy services or to produce independent research as part of the DesignTracker100 index.

  2. If there is a legal obligation to disclose your personal data.  

  3. To use analytics tools from search engines like Google so that we can improve and optimise our site 

Child Protection

Security

Making sure your personal information is secure is of utmost importance to us. We have put technical and organisational measures in place to ensure the security of your information and to protect any personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. Access to personal data is limited to employees, contractors and third parties who need to know this information in order to fulfill our business activities. They will only process it when instructed to by us and they are subject to a confidentiality agreement. 

Unfortunately, the transmission of information on the internet cannot be 100% guaranteed to be completely secure or free of error. We do our best to secure your personal data but there will always be limitations on what we can control. We cannot warrant or guarantee the security of the information you submit. Any submission is at your own risk. 

Retention Of Data 

Privacy laws put limits on how long data can be retained. We operate in accordance with the law and with GDPR. We will only retain data for as long as it’s needed. Criteria for retention periods include:

We reserve the right to update our Privacy Policy at any time in order to reflect changes to our business, sites and services. If the revised version of our Privacy Policy includes a substantial change we will provide you with 30 days prior notice by posting about the changes in a ‘Policy Update’ section of our website. We will also, where appropriate, notify you by email. 

Transfer Of Assets Or Business  

Well Designed Limited is the parent company of DesignTracker. As we develop our business we may restructure, reorganise or even sell the business or assets. In the event that we buy or sell any business or assets (that includes any reorganisation, restructure, merger or acquisition), Personal Data may be part of the transferred assets to the prospective seller or buyer.

Your Privacy Rights 

Did you know you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you and you also have a right to be forgotten? If you wish to make such a request, please drop us a line at info@designtracker.ai and we’ll sort it within 30 days. 

Filing A Complaint 

If you wish to make a complaint you can contact the European Commission’s Data Protection department or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. We’d be grateful if you would reach out to us before making a formal complaint so that we have an opportunity to look into the matter for you and to reach a resolution. 

Opting Out / Unsubscribing

Where we have your consent, or where you’ve not objected, we’ll use your personal data to send you marketing and promotional emails about our services or to send you feedback surveys and ratings review requests on services we have provided to you. We may also send you emails with information from business partners, You can object at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe at the bottom of each email or you can notify us by email at info@designtracker.ai
